Marc Walker

Marc Walker joined FreeThinking in October 2006 and is spearheading the development of the FreeThinking Asian office. Based in Sydney Marc will be directly responsible for all content design, development and platform integration. With particular expertise in the IPTV space Marc will also be responsible for FreeThinking’s global content strategy.

Marc joined the BBC in various creative system development roles and then as the interactive technology manager for the BBC’s Multimedia Centre, the Blue Skies digital media department for the corporation, pioneering interactive and digital TV in the BBC. He then went on to provide the interactive technology lead in BBC Factual and Learning evangelising the use of interactive and Digital Media.  The department went on to win the prestigious Royal Television Society Judges Award for exceptional services to television and education in 1999.  Leaving the BBC, took the challenge of building Two Way TV Australia as CTO in 2000, starting with four staff and taking the company to successful listing on the ASX in 2005. Under Marc’s technology leadership TWTVA delivered several world firsts in interactive TV and continue to be respected as one of the leading independent interactive developers in the Asia Pacific region and the worlds leading interactive racing experts. Leading the establishment and expansion of TWTVA into Asia, delivering and leading the delivery of content in emerging technologies such as IPTV with the push for Triple Play solutions and SMS-TV, Marc was responsible for developing games and enhancing TV channels in the region with key IPTV solutions for PCCW in Hong Kong and SMS-TV solutions for StarTV.
